How is Public Time?

How can we study time together when we cannot physically share a space? The sudden appearance of the Covid-19 pandemic added an unknown, and at times challenging, layer to the new iteration of School of Temporalities (SoT), convened by us, Maja Bekan, Annette Krauss, and Julia Wieger. Since the still-ongoing presence of the pandemic has rendered these ways of studying together mostly impossible, we have sought to translate them into different formats. Instead of our original plan to be physically present in Graz in the framework of If Time Is Still Alive 2021, conceived by Urban Subjects for Cameria Austria/Graz, and to explore the city’s rhythms and asynchronous economies, we have met with twelve women from Graz of different ages and occupations for online conversations over the course of a year, from March 2020 to March 2021.
